Battle of Pink Golf Balls – Precept Vs Callaway

My wife loves to golf. When she is golfing, she likes two things to remain consistent. She always wears plaid golf pants (not always the same pair!) and she always plays with a pink golf ball. As she has become a better golfer, though, the type of golf ball she is playing has become more important. She still wants to stick to the pink golf motif, but wants to get some playability out of it too.

I figured, since she was wondering, maybe others were wondering out there too. So, today I’m going to give you a review of two pink golf balls out there – the Precept Lady and the Callaway Solaire. In my mind, these are the two best balls for the buck, aside from getting a true performance ball and just dying it pink (like a ProV1 for example).

First, the Precept Lady. It sells out there for about $19.99 a box, and is designed to carry far and provide extra height on the ball. It is also designed for a slower swing speed, as ladies tend to swing it just a bit slower than the guys. In case you were wondering, there is a white version of this ball, and it is often played by the guys because of it’s great playability. It’s soft enough that you can work with it around the greens and long enough off the tee box to make it worthwhile to think about.

I’d definitely recommend this ball.

The Callaway Solaire is slightly higher priced at $24.99 a box, which I think is due in part to the Callaway brand name. If this had a different name on it, it would probably be priced similar to the Precept. Like the Precept, it is designed to fly higher and farther with a slower swing speed. In seeing this ball hit, it seemed to have a similar performance to the Precept ball. They are both very soft and workable around the greens.

In the end, I think they are both great. The decision for you should be a personal one – which one do you like better? In any event, choosing either one will help you boost your golf game. You’ll be hitting higher, hitting it longer, and looking good all at the same time.
